Badly kept campground
There is no map on Recreation.gov, so you don't know where some of the sites are located. I've included a pic of a map I got from a book. We had sites 6 and 7 and they both backed up to the road, which is very loud. Site 7 is right on the water, so it was nice to hear the river during that night. However, the grass was incredibly overgrown. We had 2 tents and could barely fit them. The table had a huge burn mark on it. The fire pit was falling apart and had not been cleaned out. There were rocks by where you parked that had graffiti all over them. And, we weren't at the campsite for more than 2 minutes when the host pulled up and said we had to pay for the extra car -- that's fine, some hosts enforce that rule and others don't, I don't mind. Our friends in site 6 had the exact same experience. It was like the host was waiting for people to arrive to demand the extra money. HOWEVER, in the 3 days we camped there, he cleaned the bathrooms once! It was muddy and dirty and disgusting. The host is not onsite -- he was at a nearby campground. No way we are camping here again.
