Quiet and small, with all the mosquitos you could want
Went the last week of June. It was a really lovely site. Very quaint and quiet. The Forest Service wasn't even charging then, so we stayed for free. The biggest downside was the mosquitos. Tons..... of mosquitos.
The river was just a few steps away and the tent was nestled right in the trees. The campsites were fairly far apart so there wasn't much interaction (which is what we were going for).
There was water from a hand pump and the toilets were open (bring your own TP, obvi). Beyond that, you're on your own.
We met a kid that was fishing the river and claimed to have caught some nice trout.
The nearby trail, Chimney Camp, was blocked and it seems like this is a common occurrence.

Beware of thieves. The last day as we were leaving the Ranger came up and asked about a white, windowless van and told us that they had been stealing gear for the past year or so.
