Howard Prairie is indeed a super pretty big prairie… a lot of the lake had dried up in 2021-2022 and it left behind a beautiful prairie. Howard prairie lake is only 10% full as of July 2022. It’s still an amazing place to go stay at! The marina and boat ramp have closed due to low water levels, on weekends they have lunch at the store/restaurant on the resort. There’s a beautiful view of Mt. McLoughlin across the lake and another pretty lake around the corner (Hyatt Lake).
