Spectacular solitude!
We try to camp here once a year. The camping sites are large enough that you don't feel you're crammed in on top of your neighbors. The camp has quiet hours, but -- despite the fact that the campground was full for Father's Day -- we never heard our neighbors. The toilets are pit toilets, but they're kept clean. The site is along the river, so expect light mosquitoes. Things to do include hiking, biking, fishing and relaxing. Highlights not to be missed: Hike the McKenzie River Trail to the Blue Pool, eat dinner at Takoda Restaurant, visit one of the many hot springs in the area. The waster in the campground is a little "rusty." It's good for cooking and washing, but bring bottles for drinking.
