We had a lovely weekend at spot 21, with a nice woodsy view. There’s a bit of a walk to the one water spigot in the center of the grounds. The pit toilet was nicely maintained (ladies room had a bag for trash and hand sanitizer). Verizon service was better than expected. Overall a peaceful, relaxing stay.
Really liking this campground. No frills but does have a water source. Well Hand pump.
The Campground is located off the McKenzie hwy a few miles west of Sisters. The sites are shaded by the Ponderosa, with quite a bit of room and a good distance from each other. There is water located near site 5. There are 3 vault toilets located within the CG and and the northern most one was in decent condition. There is also an adjacent day use area. This is a good base for exploring the sites and trails of the McKenzie hwy and surrounding national forest. You'll want to make a reservation for a weekend or if there is an event going on in Sisters (when those start up again). It is nice that the CG is so close to town so you can go in for a bite to eat or pick something up you may have forgotten.
We rolled in late after striking out at two other nearby campgrounds and grabbed the last site — lucky days! Even booked up, it didn't seem crowded at all. The sites are pretty spacious and spread out nicely.
The campground is flat and open with many tall pines and a little creek running down the middle. It's right off the road, but traffic was light and we hardly noticed it during the night.
We stayed here for one night and it is a great campground near Sisters, OR. We were lucky enough to get the last site on a Friday night with no reservations. Site 4 is fairly wide open with plenty of room for a few tents. The sites (at least the ones near the creek) aren't super private but nice and spacious with lots of room in between the sites.
I really liked being right on the creek and we could here it running all night...very peaceful. There are nice, clean pit toilets and a pump for water.
