Easy access and beautiful

I'm inexperienced at maneuvering my travel trailer, but plenty of sites were very spacious and easy to back into. Gorgeous tall trees, sites are spread out, very peaceful. As a woman traveling alone, the occasional road noise is comforting. The 'interpretive trail' across the road is a bummer. If you don't need much, this campground is awesome and affordable.

Camping during the winter

If you have a four-wheel drive vehicle, staying here in March is plausible. There was about a foot and a half of snow, but the bathrooms were still accessible. It’s cold, but fun!

Good for a few nights

We had a tent and SUV that we also sometimes sleep in. There were plenty of spaces to choose from, even arriving on a Saturday evening. Everyone was pretty quiet and spread out. At night it got very loud with animals though—we think coyotes were howling from midnight until 3 AM!

Rustic sites in the trees

When you want the basics, this spot delivers. Bring water. Plenty of space for tents or RVs. Lots of shade and nearby to the Grande Ronde River.

Excellent place to dry camp...

Every time we camp here it has been quiet, wild life comes around to say hi. Vault toilets, no water, no trash pickup. Always clean,,, Nice place...
