Good for family get togethers
I bounced between a 3 and 4 star review. If the weather was cooler or we had a shaded spot, then I would have gone 4 right away, so giving it a generous 4 for people wanting a family spot on the lake.
This campground felt a bit like a summer camp. There is a good sized pool, a pond with a couple of kayaks and pedal boats, and an (aging) mini golf course. It felt like many of the other people staying were like us, several families meeting up for a get together. It was crowded, but not loud or raucous. The bathrooms and showers seemed recently redone and clean, but strangely no AC (or vents in the one away from the pool) so they got very warm.
There are several fishing docks and boat ramps. It definitely draws people in that want to go out on the lake, too. Lots of boats and trailers in the overflow area.
The sites are OK. Our area had no shade and concrete straps for just the trailer tires. Some sites at the park were under huge shade trees, though. The electrical and water hookup for most sites was a strangely long run, so bring a long extension cord and hose.
We will likely do another get together here. We will look for an area with shade trees, though.
