Picken's Nose Primitive Campground is located near rugged terrain with dense forests and rocky outcrops. Temperatures in the area range from lows in the 30s Fahrenheit during winter to highs in the 80s during summer. Nearby attractions include the Nantahala National Forest and the Appalachian Trail, offering opportunities for hiking and exploration.

This is the campground at the climbing area, not the trail head. This is a back country site with no amenities, just nature!

The Best Camping Near Otto, North Carolina

This is a great spot in the area to try out some top-rope climbing, get in some amazing views, and enjoy nice camping while you are at it. You have to hike in a little way to get to the campground/climbing and it can be a little challenging to find so consult a map and some of the many online guidebooks. The views, however, are well worth it and the campground is hidden in a rock so it is well protected and has a nice campfire.

  

There is no water at the site so make sure you hike in with whatever you need. The campsite itself is large enough for 1 or maybe 2 tents though there is plenty of trees for a bunch of hammocks.
