Legacy Farms Roughing It is located near the rolling terrain of North Carolina. The area experiences temperatures ranging from the 30s in winter to the 80s in summer. Nearby attractions include the Lumber River State Park, offering opportunities for hiking and canoeing.

We are a 43 acre Arabian horse farm with other farm animals such as goats, turkeys, chickens, ducks, peacocks, dogs and cats. Our farm is an easy 8-9 miles off I-95 and a perfect mid point for stopping. We have a platform for tent camping and water/electric hook up for smaller RVs (no waste dump). There is plenty to do and see around the farm and area in general.

Roughing it or not, spend the weekend at Legacy Farms

Beautiful Arabian horses. Also goats, ducks, turkeys, chickens, roosters, Guineas, etc..
Cats and dogs add to the fun. 
Tom and his wife are great hosts. I set up a small tent on the lawn, and the fall weather was perfect. Would have stayed longer, but I had to hit the road.

We stopped for the night on our way to Florida and arrived late. Liz was very accommodating and welcomed us with a thoughtful gesture of cheese, jam, and crackers. The web check-in process was seamless and efficient. The farm itself was lovely, with a variety of animals. However, there were a couple of areas for improvement. The electrical hookup was limited to 120V, and having a 30amp or 50amp hookup would have been more convenient. Additionally, the shower was out of order during our stay. Despite these issues, we enjoyed our time at the farm and appreciated the warm hospitality. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
