Hampton Beach SP is a small beachside campground for self-contained RVs only; if you’re in a tent, you may want to look south to Salisbury SP just a few miles across the border into MA. That said, Hampton is a summer destination beloved by generations and this location puts you near the beach, a few miles from the boardwalk and all of its activities as well as and Wed evening fireworks& concerts, and across the street from daily fishing and whale watching tours. 

It opens about a month before Memorial Day weekend for a quieter shoulder season. There’s no protection from the sun, so you may appreciate a shelter of some sort if you expect to be outdoors at your site during the day. It’s crowded with day users. Sites 1-15 line the Hampton River and are back-in; sites 16+ are inside and pull-throughs. Neither one is far from the water! There’s a jetty to sit on and fish from or watch the sunrise. I enjoyed the morning deep sea fishing trips from companies across the street.
