Nice n quiet with a good breeze lots around for kids to do well kept n everything works as should I get back this way I will spend more time here next time .owners are real friendly and informative.
New owners as of Jan 2023! Super nice people! Bathrooms are in great condition, nice large area to walk your dog around to potty, very conveniently off I80 but not annoyingly loud from Highway.
DONT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET SCREAMED AT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT FOR SNEEZING!!! No joke!!! Very sweet owners, when taking your money. But when my youngest son ran a fever of 104 shortly after we got there at 8:00 p.m., and we had to take him to the ER, the owners actually came out of their house at midnight and yelled at us for "slamming our car door". I tried to apologize and explain the situation the next morning and there was no empathy what so ever! In stead, we got blamed for "making a huge mess in their public restroom". WE WERENT EVEN THERE LONG ENOUGH TO USE THEIR RESTROOM, NOR WOULD WE HAVE AS WE HAVE OUR OWN IN OUR MOTORHOME!!! Just weary travelers trying to get some rest. Not loud, obnoxious, didn't even sit at the picnic table. Didn't have time before we were run out. FOR SURE, two elderly people who SHOULD NOT be in business running a customer service establishment!!! If you want my advice, KEEP DRIVING!!!
Really is an oasis ! Owners are so kind, campground is immaculate- can’t recommend more :)
I really enjoyed my stay at Prairie Oasis. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. The grounds were beautiful. There is a small pond on the property. Lots of nice places for go for a walk. The sites were large and easy to pull through. I had good service with Verizon and the wifi was solid. Easy access off the highway. Nice little shop with local products. The bathrooms were clean with nice hot showers.
The site is very clean and well kept up. There are things to do, like hang out by the pond, hot shoes, volleyball. The internet looks fast. Most importantly. The owners were very friendly and went beyond the extra mile.
You can't go wrong staying here. Clean and quaint. Patty and Todd are wonderful hosts. Enjoy the wooden swings, sitting by the pond and listening to the cicadas.
What a gem. We arrived to a wonderful welcome. Hosts told us up front they hoped the firefly show would be as wonderful as the night before. It was. Just magical. Lovely spots, shade, swings, ice cream. One of the best places we have ever stayed. Highly recommend.
Close to I-80 but you can’t hear the interstate traffic. Owners are super nice and the dogs had a great time playing in the pond.
This was our very first stop with our new RV. The park is very well maintained, and as others mentioned, there were no long-term campers. While it is close to the freeway, the noise never seemed to bother us. There is a nice little pond to walk around too.
Patti and Todd are awesome hosts. It was near freezing when we stayed, so the free firewood helped keep us warm! Todd was even out there helping us newbies pack up our rig when it was time to go. Will stay here again, if just for the hospitality!
Great camp area, host are the owners, even drove us to our site, all sites are nice and level, didn't even have to level the RV. There are no long term campers which is a plus for us. Full hook ups and pull thur sites. Will stop here again when in the area
Beautiful park right off I-80, very well maintained, very clean, does not have any long term tenants which is a big plus for us. Has full service pull through sites that are all level, didn't even have to level my rig. The owners operate the park and are very helpful.
Perfect for a night stop off the freeway. Sweet little pond with bull frogs that my sons loved chasing after, paddle boats, swing set and sand box. There are hookups, a dump station, and WiFi avail. Lovely grounds that are well kept, and super friendly staff. Will def bookmark this spot for future stopovers!
Arrival was smooth. Parked outside of office and checked in. Was escorted to site and given a run through. Site has a slight dip but was not a big deal.
On site 12, it seems like you would need to share a fire pit and picnic table with site 13. Luckily, site 13 wasn’t ever occupied during our stay since there was a parked utility trailer there.
Pond has three paddle boats and you can fish. Water is murky and seems to only contain bluegill and bullheads. We had a lot of bites but never caught anything. Would be nice if it was stocked with more fish.
Free firewood nightly was great.
Shop in the office contains supplies, food, and drinks. This was nice.
Camp hosts are very friendly and accommodating.
This is generally going to be a great place for campers looking to stay overnight but not really for extended stays.
This campground is located north of the interstate at the Henderson exit. We came to just get out for the first time this year because of Covid-19. We requested a site closest to the pond because I just love to look at the water and wildlife. The campground restrooms were closed due to Covid and she had everyone spread to every other site. No tent camping or cabins open at this time. Had a great time frog hunting and boy were they big. Also paddle boated around the pond
This campground is a really nice campground right off Interstate 80. The owners live on site and take pride in their business and it shows. The campground is well kept, and the bathrooms/shower house has been remodeled and was immaculate. The sites are gravel, level, and good size. They offer tent camping, Electric and water, or full hook-ups. The sites are pull thru which is always nice. There are fire rings and picnic tables scattered throughout the sites.
We were at a sight closest to the pond, which I loved because I could walk my pups down to the pond and sit at the yard swing and just relax. I thought the interstate would be really noisy but the trees muffle the sound and you really don't hear it. There was even free paddle boats to use for the pond. We also played horseshoes. They also had many other Yard Games to play, a Sand Volleyball Pit, a Sand Box with toys, and a swing set.
The owners were very sweet and Patty brought us fresh baked cookies-something no other campgrounds has ever done and something I will never forget. They also give you your first bundle of firewood free. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and we did. We will definitely be coming back here.
