Where roughing it meets luxury
This was a lovely spot with lovely care takers. The scenery was beautiful. The airport and train crossings are distant enough that we could not really hear them. The night before we arrived we had been camping in Wyoming so the shower was quite glorious (6’1” guy was able to stand up in it comfortably). The hostess (LaVonne) was cleaning the composting toilet when we arrived, and while the out house it sat in was warm in the summer, it just means one is less likely to spend time in there on their phone. It was also quite the improvement over the pit toilets we had used elsewhere and did not smell at all. We had plenty of space to set up our tent and we felt comfortable leaving it set up to eat at one of the local spots in the nearby town (~15 min away). The animals provided a nice background hum of life. This stop has been the highlight of our trip and we would definitely recommend it to other campers who are looking for a retreat or a quiet place to stop during their travels. If we are in Montana again this will definitely be one of our stops.
