    Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs

    Family Favorite

We loved our stay here. Pools are awesome very relaxing. Main pool is kept at 95 , hot spring is 106 and small pool is 45. All pools are water from the hot spring. Also sauna is huge downside is it has a concrete floor that gets super hot. From memory most sauna have a raised wood deck ? Campground is nice , basketball goal, 4 horseshoe pits and a community fire pit . Bathhouse/bathroom was very nice and clean. In the main lobby they have pizza and hot dogs you can buy. Pizza was pretty good. There is also a large selection of sodas, waters and maybe beer I don’t remember . Owners /workers were very nice. Now the only thing we didn’t care for is the campground guest can only use the pool till 8pm. While the hotel/cabin guest have access 24 hrs. Not a deal breaker but would’ve been nice to go whenever maybe there’s a reason didn’t ask.

    Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs

    Clean, Beautiful Pools

The pool area is first rate! The campground is OK, no great shakes. Sites are fairly close together. Expensive considering they only give you $2 of at the pool from the $15 fee to use the pools. Bathhouse is clean and well kept.

If you stay in site 12, know that even though it looks like a back in site, you actually have to pull through over the grass to get your rig in with the hook ups on the correct side.

Also, the Phillips County Pioneer Museum in Malta is well worth a visit. Awesome local history and super collection of actual dinosaur fossils, but not just casts.

    Camp Creek Campground

    A Hidden Gem

I stumbled across Camp Creek Campground summer of '19 when I was having some problems with my slides and needed to stop for the night.  The campground has several very large pull through spots, and folks with horses often pass through.  Upon entering the campground area, a caretakers spot is early on, while no caretaker was employed last year, there is a sanitary dump station at the site, as well as, potable water.  A bit past that is a large area for horse trailer parking, and a corral.   As one progresses down the road,  a large group gathering area is on left of the road, along with parking.  A bit further are large, clean, restroom facilities, and another area for both parking and pulling one's rig through to load up on water.  Continuing down the road are numerous camping spots, most are smaller.  However, a the end of the loop are two large spots big enough to pull a large fifth wheel or motorhome through.  A further two or three large back in sites are there as well.  A small stream runs through the back area, and endless hiking / horseback riding trails are in this area as well.  Further, there is another hookup one can fill their tanks with potable water (no sites have water hookups on site, except the caretakers).  When I was there in late July, the campground was maybe 1/3 full.  We ended up staying three nights.

Drawbacks:  there are four to note.  First, while the sites are well kept, those with very wide RV's (mine is 92") or high (mine is 13') will find branches to be bothersome at best.  In my case I made a decision some time ago that I was going to be careful, but my rig was going to get used in the great outdoors, and that meant getting a scratch from time to time.  I fully realize when one is paying $60k - $500k and more, that may be somewhat less than desirable.  And while there are several good sized spaces, I wouldn't try bringing in anything longer than 36' (mine is 33).   Second, the road in is rather long, a good gravel road, but gravel (and dusty) none the less.  If one gets caught in the rain this area is well known for it's gumbo roads … they can be very miserable.  Third, a local told me that the place was heaven nearly all season … except .. during hunting season.   He used some rather colorful language to depict the camping environment during those six weeks or so in late fall.  Fourth, if you have a problem you are a long way from help, and there is no cell service.   All that said, this is a wonderful campground, great for kids and Old Goats like me.

    Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs

Large sites, clean and well kept

Sites were spacious and well placed, clean and well kept.   Access to Buffalo Hot Springs resort pool and facilities. Staff was very nice and helpful however they close at 8 pm and have no enforcement of campground 'quiet time' at night.

    Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs

4 Stars–Relaxing, Clean, and Surprisingly Good Food (Just Bring Bug Spray)

We spent a few nights at Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs and honestly, it was a refreshing, peaceful escape. The hot springs were incredible—clean, relaxing, and just what we needed to recharge. The staff was fantastic across the board: friendly, helpful, and genuinely seemed to care that we were having a good time.

Our RV site was wide and easy to pull into, with perfectly placed hookups. It felt like the campground was actually designed with RVers in mind. The only real downside? The mosquitoes were fierce, especially at dusk—definitely bring spray and maybe a flamethrower.

There’s not much to do in the area, but the campground itself was peaceful and clean. There’s a basketball court for the kids, and while it’s not packed with amenities for families, our kids still had fun and loved seeing the free-range chickens strutting around like they owned the place.

The restaurant really blew us away—incredible food, fantastic drinks from the bar, and top-notch service. Honestly, it rivaled some of the best dining we’ve had in Montana. The only disappointment was that it closes early, so plan ahead if you want a late dinner or drink.

My mom stayed in one of the cabins, which was very clean and well-kept. The only hiccup was the pull-out couch being broken, but everything else was in great shape. Also, shoutout to their fast and dependable Wi-Fi - our Starlink cable broke, so we got to test it out, and it didn’t miss a beat.

Overall, we’d say it’s a better fit for adults looking to unwind, soak, and eat well—but if you bring kids, they’ll find ways to have fun. Would definitely come back(with bug spray in hand).

    Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs

Great stop! Hot spring tubs were amazing!

No reservation, we took a chance on having a spot available. If you are leaving/coming to Glacier NP and driving on US2….this should be your overnight. It is about 340 miles from West Glacier.

Nice level pull through spots, gravel….room to enjoy picnic table and fire ring. Nice sunset views. Boys loved basketball court. Bath house was clean.

Went to pools in the morning, open at 0900. 2 swims are included with camping spot. There are indoor and outdoor pools, 3 temperatures and spacious. Also, sauna is huge…very nice facilities.

Be sure to check out store before you leave, lots of cuts of local beef.

    Sleeping Buffalo Hot Springs

    Great relaxing spot

Camped in a pull through with our teardrop but because we didn’t need hookups, they gave us tent price! All of the staff were friendly! Hot springs were fantastic! Hot, medium and cold pool, indoor and outdoor pools, huge sauna, chairs, tables, lots of room …just perfect!! They even provide towels! Everything was clean. Everything you need for tv park type camping. Not many people here so we didn’t feel packed in! Highly recommend a stop! PS we didn’t experience any mosquitos but it was windy.

    Camp Creek Campground

    Great campground for OHV riding

We stayed here a few days in May. We had a great time. There were only 2 other people camping there the whole weekend. There’s tons of trails to ride side by sides. The campground is clean and the sites have plenty of space for our 28ft toy hauler. We would definitely stay here again.
