We spent our first weekend at HVO. We stayed in the danceyard camp site with 30 amp electric only and plenty of trees. The newer RV sites have full hookups but no shade. Quiet hours run 10pm-7am which was nice for my young daughters. HVO does allow golf carts so you have to watch out for those zooming around. The camp store is amazing. They have a full menu including pizza for those days that you’re too tired to cook. The gravel bar was nice and close to our site. However the gravel bar isn’t huge so make sure to show up early to get a prime spot. Not a necessity for me but I did have full LTE on Verizon.
My family and I will definitely return in the future.
My family had a blast on a short weekend trip. The staff shuttled our three kayaks back to our campsite after we floated all day, which was nice. No complaints. Would recommend staying here.
Plenty of space at the campsites! We enjoyed 2 nites at the tent sites with electric hookups. Great spot on the niangua river with easy access to the river which was a nice place to relax after fishing over at Bennett all day (which is conveniently right across the street!)
RV full hookups are great, EZ in EZ setup and EZ out.... Tent campers have nice spaces to setup .. Bathhouses are clean and nice. The New Country Camp Store is very nice ,you can get pizzas to go ,eat em at the river or ur camper, there is a walk in beer cooler, fishing supplies.... and lots of other things you might need ,if you forgot ... Owners and Staff are great... always love going there hate to leave...
Great campground for family and friends! Close access to the river and Bennett Springs.
We live 45 minutes away from this campground but love spending time here. No shade in the campground because it's still relatively new but has many great aspects and continues to add more. So close to the park but out of the hubbub.
One of my top 3 campsites to visit in Missouri. Through the warm season visit at least once a month. Good clean facilities, great staff who are friendly, respectful and fun to laugh with. Always make you feel welcome. Beautiful river flowing by. There are a few choice spots that I prefer depending on time of year that can fill up quick. So book ahead. Water is chilly year around so if you like bathwater warmth, not the place for you. For us it's perfect.
Clean and well-maintained campground off the Niangua River. Showerhouse is ok- not air conditoned but relatively clean. Sites are nice with a parking pad, picnic table, campfire ring with grill, and lantern post. Great general store on property! Can’t wait to come back again. They’re supposed to be adding more soon.
Visited labor day weekend 2018
This is a new (‘17) campground. Trees have been planted but currently no shade. Concrete pads. Nice store with pizza ovens.
It is right on the Niangua River and they provide put in and take out along with canoe and kayak rental. Fees were very reasonable.
They are building a winery and drive in theater to be open in ‘19.
A wonderful addition to the area.
Would be a 5 with cable, WiFi and paved lane.
