Three Lakes, near Strongs, Michigan, is a charming campground tucked away in the Hiawatha National Forest, perfect for those looking to unwind in nature. ## Overview

 Three Lakes Campground is a peaceful facility tucked away from the busy highway. It is nestled between Whitmarsh, Brown and Walker Lakes, giving visitors ample opportunity to enjoy and explore nature at its best.
## Recreation

 The three lakes are open to non-motorized boating. A carry-down boat ramp is located at the campground's picnic area. Fishing is a popular activity. Rainbow trout, perch and catfish are found in the lakes. Although there is no designated swimming beach, sandy areas are located along the shores of the three lakes. Hikers enjoy the serene atmosphere of the campground. The Walker Loop Trail begins within the campground, near the picnic area, and leads hikers around the perimeter of Walker Lake. The trail is easy hiking and traverses about 1.15 miles.
## Natural Features

 The campground is set among a variety of pine, spruce and maple trees on land sandwiched between Lake Superior and Lake Michigan. Whitmarsh, Brown and Walker Lakes dot the landscape to the north, south, and west of the campground.

 The nearest town is Strongs, just 2.5 miles from the campground.

Tons to explore in this area. Wooded campground, lots of water to walk along and other trails nearby. Campsites are among three lovely lakes, which makes a pretty amazing atmosphere. Lots of wildlife and birds. Nice primitive sites, just water tap and vault toilets. Really memorable campsite, especially if you have a kayak and do some stargazing. And close to Canada! 


Exceptionally pretty site 

Amazing lakes with extra large campsites. This was another favorite during our trip through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. There was a limited number of campsites available but all were very large with a fire ring and picnic table. While driving up to the campground you are on a picturesque 2 lane highway with trees surrounding you. As you pull in the campground is well taken care of with the campsites spread out from on another. If you have a kayak or canoe bring it as there are spots to launch your vessel. The vaulted toilets were clean and the drinking water was pure. We would stay here again except we would stay longer!

Great spot to relax and enjoy nature!

First-come-first-served campground with 10 spots.  Pit toilet, picnic table, fire pit and drinking water are the amenities.  Sites are huge, and very private.  We came on a Thursday in late July and only two sites occupied.  Full by Friday noon to Sunday morning.  Pit toilet is well-maintained and clean.  T-Mobile cell was 2 bars with booster and intermittent without.  Loved this place.  Quiet, beautiful, spacious and private.  Some sites have nice lake views.  Paddling and hiking were great. Our 2 night stay turned into 10 nights.

Nice standard USFS campground. Self pay, $16/night, no host, no reservations. 

  

Signs say no garbage service so pack out your garbage, though we saw garbage bins by the bathrooms. 

  

Sites are green and well spaced apart, lots of trees, nice amount of privacy though one of the sites (I think #9) was just all out in the open - so this might be a good one if you need sun for solar. 

  

Pump water available here, as well as vault toilets. We didn’t see an easy way to access the lake, but maybe there was something we missed. 

  

A few spots available on a Saturday afternoon in mid-August. Zero cell reception for ATT or Verizon.
