Overcrowded Michigan State Park

We stay here last summer on a tour of the Michigan UP. The campground was about 3 hours drive from the border crossing at Sault Saint Marie. The campsite was overcrowded with locals and the sites were on top of each other. The camp was noisy and many of the sites were uneven and hard to access. The nearby lakes provide nice swimming opportunities and it across the street from a bluff overlooking Lake Superior. This may be ok for families looking for a place to take the kids for a night or two. We were so disappointed in the camp we departed after a few hours and camped at a dispersed site in the nearby Lake Superior Forest.
