Great place to camp

This is a great place to camp. Clean bathrooms, camp sites, and friendly staff. Easy access to the Muskegon River and close to downtown Newago.

Great park

We camped for memorial weekend 2019. The staff was great. The showers and bathrooms were clean. They could use a little bit more playground equipment but there where enough trails and the river to keep the kids busy. The atmosphere was great, everyone was friendly and considerate of noise levels.

We will definitely stay here again!

Nickel n Dimer

Was $85 for a rustic, no electric, tent only site. Granted it WAS labor day weekend so ya know. Holiday rates. But even so. That was the cheapest method. Then there's a parking fee per day on top of your site fee that was also $6/day at the time. Great place to camp but not worth THAT MUCH just to pitch a tent for 2 nights.

Nice campground, very convenient for river trips.

We stay here at least once a year and do an annual river trip with a bunch friends. It's a nice campground with a small park, pond, full bathrooms, group sites, and even a couple small cabins. It's great for river trips since we go upstream and can float all the way into camp and no worry about driving. We make a run the next morning for coffee and to pick up the vehicles left at the launch.

Busy Campground with River Access

This is a great campground with access to the Muskegon River. There is a boat launch on site and lots of traffic in and out. If you are looking for a peaceful place, this may not be it. They are always packed, lots of kids riding bikes and running around, smaller campsites, etc. The sites are grassy and many have smaller trees, there isn't a lot of shade in many of the center lots. If you like a busy place with a lot going on, this is the place for you! We prefer a more peaceful and quiet environment and want to relax , plus we prefer much larger campsites so it's a matter of preference I suppose. The bathrooms aren't the cleanest but since they are so busy I guess that's to be expected? We have since found a campground we like much better just a bit further away and are now seasonal there. We love it there!
