Gamefence Campsite Grand Island is a ferry boat or sea kayak paddle away from the main land near the town of Munising, Mi.

Pictured Rock is nearby and there are several tour options available in and around Munising for the area.

Gamefence Campsite is further away from the ( about 3 miles) ferry, off the main trail which seemed to be the busier of the trails crisscrossing the island. Room for several tents and space to be comfortable with a little bit of privacy. Bring your bear proof food containers and copious amounts of bug spray. There is a lot of standing water on the island so the squitoes are thick. 

Otherwise the island makes you feel like you are a settler on a wooded island fending for yourself ( except for the other visitors hiking through and the nearby ferry ) but try to stay in character. The views are awesome and about the only thing I would change is the time of year we visited....
