Fenton is an area rich in history
The campground at Fenton Lake Access (it's Fenton, Lake Access, not Fenton Lake, Access!) is layed out in a line along a hillside, with a dry creek on the immediate north side. This creek can become a rushing waterway during heavy rain or flash flooding, so don't be fooled by it being dry. The area if very functional, and used to be a grand gathering place back in the days of Land Between the Lakes being the Golden Pond, KY area. There is a pavillion suitable for large groups, as a Family reunion was gathering up as I arrived, and is reservable through the Park system for little or no fee. There is also a bike trail, which feeds into the Hardwoods Trail, the main east-west trail that goes through LBL for hiking and biking. Off to the West is the actual ramp, floating dock and dike for shoreline fishing.
