Don't go on holidays...

Over crowded and loud on holidays....but this is our go to spot other then that. Tent camping, hiking, fishing, clean showers, friendly employees and a fair amountof secluded primitivesites.. We go here and camp on site UB 1 or 2 at least 5 weekends out of the year.

Great place for the whole family to camp at !

Hit a little rough patch in life and needed a break from sleeping in the car and hotels . All the staff at the park were very friendly and understanding of our situation. At $20 a nite for tent site ,showers ,clean toilets ,whole park is very clean ! Lots of things to do here and the waterfall was our fav part ! Deff will be back when in the area . Our site was right down the Rd from the waterfall so had a great view !

Family Fun Time

My family and I have camped here twice, and we love it. Sometimes we just come for the day to go swimming, hiking, fishing. It's beautiful.

Wow! Gorgeous Park!

We heard a lot of good things recently about this park. We had no idea it was so close to us too. We packed up the dogs and headed to France Park for a full day of exploring, followed by staying at a primitive campsite.

We took two vehicles since we wanted to leave one at our campsite. Some sites are clustered together, however we lucked out and got one along the fishing lake with no nearby neighbors.

The quarry, wow! It was beyond stunning and never what I expected to see in an Indiana park. We had an amazing hike, checking out the quarry. We ventured out on one more trail and saw the waterfall but headed to our site to set up camp afterwards.

Park was quiet at night for the most part. The RV area isn’t too far away and sound does travel. Lots of people drive golf carts out there. At night you can hear the major highway too, but it didn’t stop us from having a good time.

We will definitely be going back again.

Good beach

We really enjoyed the beach! Our campsite was an odd size and a tight drive to back into (but it was a busy weekend). We were excited for the waterfall but it was closed off. The store and concessions were helpful to have close by

Beautiful Lake and Many Trails

Took the wife on a day trip just to scope out the area. What we found is a little piece of unexpected paradise! I took a 5 mile hike and she spent the day on the beach and swimming in the crystal clear lake. There are sooooo many trails and they are very well maintained, although if it’s rained, there may be standing water in some of the lower areas. There is plenty of room for kayaking, fishing and hiking. The waterfall isn’t huge, but it’s beautiful. All in all, it will be on the list of places to set up camp in the coming future!

Pretty trails

We had a decently large site for our 23’ camper. Lots for the kids to do- park, beach, fishing, pretty trails, waterfall, little camp store etc... This is only an hour from us so, good place to go to get away and not have that drive far. Wish they had full hook up as the shower house we were by had ONE shower and bathrooms weren’t the cleanest. Not the worst, but could have used more attention for sure. 🤢 All in all we would go back for a short weekend.

Destination for decades!

Love this place. Have been camping here for decades and for me this place has a great balance of amenities and natural sceneries and spaces. While not the fanciest or "glampiest" this park covers the essentials and offers some truely awesome outdoor areas with local history to boot. We camp here at least once a year!

Unique place

The Campground need some updating there are no full hookup sites at all in the park. The swimming beach at the Quarry is very nice. If You're A Primitive camper this place has some awesome camping spots for you.

great scenery and decent place to camp

have been camping here all my life. i scuba dive and this has been a place i grew up diving. u used to be able to dive anytime but now you can only dive when the dive store is open. the ecenrry is beautiful. the csmpground is nice but lately it has a lot to be desired. the grass is usually long snd not mowed and the sites are gravel and they used the huge gravel so it is hard to used stabilizers and also level your unit on. the have wifi finally so yhst is a nice adition and also the old bathrooms have a lot to be desired. The newer bathrooms are very nice.
