Took my son on a 3 day trip and stayed on site G17. It was on a high place with great drainage (it rained quite a few times). Well kept and the tent pad was gravel. The bath house had good hot water for showers, and for its age, very well kept. We took our jon boat out on the lake and had a blast! The scenery was breathtaking, from the drive up the mountain to the park, all the way down to the lake. Great fall trip to say the least. Very much recommended
Got to camp 9/10 and will be staying thru 9/12. Lot 102 is perfect! Shade the majority of the day, very back of the camp ground and close enough to walk to everything! We got up Saturday morning and rented a row boat for the day. Spent the day checking out the lakes, then hiked a couple of the trails. Trail 1 had a huge snake on a tree that I found fascinating lol. Great neighbors made it the perfect weekend get away! Will definitely be back! The staff is amazing, the restroom/showers were clean, and the whole park is very well maintained. I have Verizon and had no service from Albion all the way to the park. My wife has ATT and had spotty service in the park, just FYI
I took my son for a quick trip, but the camp grounds were full, so we made a day of hiking, biking and fishing…of course we had a picnic, too. The trail head near the fishing dock was the perfect place to park. It allowed hiking one way and biking the other. The trails were very well maintained, wide and shaded for a hot midsummer day. The picnic areas were clean and spread out all over the park, as well as the restrooms. The fishing dock was crowded, but being a clear summer day, it’s to be expected. We just made our way around the bank and dropped a line. The water was beautiful! Folks were kayaking, canoeing and paddle boating all over. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, too. All in all, a great visit. Will definitely be back to pop a tent now that we know the area!
Took the wife on a day trip just to scope out the area. What we found is a little piece of unexpected paradise! I took a 5 mile hike and she spent the day on the beach and swimming in the crystal clear lake. There are sooooo many trails and they are very well maintained, although if it’s rained, there may be standing water in some of the lower areas. There is plenty of room for kayaking, fishing and hiking. The waterfall isn’t huge, but it’s beautiful. All in all, it will be on the list of places to set up camp in the coming future!
