Good hiking trail

The campsite here is nice- it’s not uncommon to get the place to yourself! I think it’s best enjoyed early in the summer, before the creek dries out. There is a shooting range/pit nearby- usually gunshots are heard here and it can be jarring if you don’t know about the pit!

Small well kept CG !

This campground is off the beaten track down of forest development road near Deary Idaho. A great little hidden gem. The campground roads and camp spots are paved and most spots are level or very near level. Easy to back in and set up trailers, although some of the back ins are probably a little short if your trailer is over 32 ft. They've done a good job of spacing the spots out and keeping plenty of trees and foliage in between for privacy. There's a small stream running by the campground. We found this to be a very enjoyable spot. Note that they lock the gate to the campground at 10:00 p.m. and don't open it until the morning unless you contact the campground host. Not sure why. Probably just for security.

Clean and private!

The restrooms here are some of the cleanest of the campgrounds in the area.

This camp site is not open year round but I’m not exactly sure when it closes. I came here to do some late fall camping and it was closed.

But I have been here on two other occasions, as it’s close by and often is not full. There is a place to pump water which makes packing in a bit less work. I still filter the water because you never know.

It’s not gravel, but paved areas so walking barefoot was comfy minus the occasional rock.

With wildlife right on your doorstep and Deary just a stones throw away, you won’t regret staying in this area.

I always go to The Pie Safe when I visit one of the three campsites in this region. You should too! It’s amazing.

Secluded Oasis

This campground is 3 miles from the little community of Helmer. While there is not much in the area, this campground has a lot to offer. It has multiple bathroom facilities, two water stations and private spots tucked up in the trees. All of the sites circle a meadow. There is also a large area with picnic tables if you wanted to have a get together there. The trash is pack in pack out. When I was there the Forest service had left a lot of precut wood around from the winter. It was nicely stacked for the taking at the camp sites.

Quiet Escape

Located just south of Deary, ID this campground is usually quiet and has lots of camping sites. RVs can fit into most spots and there are designated areas for tents at each site. There is a short trail that encircles the campground with a longer hike across the road from the campground which follows the river.
