Hidden Gem!
This campground was quite the surprise! It is reservable so you’re guaranteed a spot (assuming you can get it online).
The campground itself is tucked into a valley of sorts so you are surrounded by trees everywhere. The biggest attraction here is the creek. Getting down to the creek can be a chore if you don’t have good shoes or knees as there isn’t a dedicated walking path down. However, once you are down by the creek, it is quite pleasant. The water was moving too fast to wade into but there are small pools to stick your feet in for a quick cool off.
There are vault restrooms but they aren’t glamorous or anything. Camp host was super nice too. Drove around a few times to check in on people. When we arrived, that portion of the state was in stage 1 fire restrictions and he made sure we were fully aware of the rules and what to do if we had to leave in a hurry.
There’s not much in the way of shade, at least in the drive up camping spots. The spots reserved for RV’s and trailers seemed to have more shade.
As for noise, the only real noise you hear is the birds and the creek. The campground is tucked away far enough from the highway that you don’t hear the traffic at all.
If you’re looking for a quiet weekend getaway, this is the place.
