Coming here for years...
We've been camping at Morganton Point for over a decade. It's a great, quiet campground right on Blue Ridge Lake. Campsite 11 is a great walk-in site close to the water. April is the best month to go!

We had a great time and loved this campground. Our site had a view of the water with the leaves off the trees and a little trail down to the water. A little close our neighbors but not terrible, for the most part felt private. Would go again!

Camped on lot 14 which was quite spacious with easy access to the water. Tent was located away from the fire pit and picnic table and the restrooms were close by. Campground is small and quiet; hardly any light pollution at my nonelectric site. Firewood and ice are available for purchase on the grounds, so it is convenient when in a pinch!

All around best time! Very clean!

This campground has the nicest bathhouse!!!!! The staff was super friendly. The campground has many sites with an awesome view of Lake Blue Ridge.

Morgantown Point Rec
Stayed in site 30, Nov 11-13. Nice weather and rain, then the temperature took a nose dive.
The lake was pretty low at winter level. A friend of mine who fished still caught some both days. She said the area near the boat dock was rocky and not the muddy mess the rest of the low level lake was.
The sites are nice sized, the pull throughs are huge. Room for several tents, toys, etc. the views are awesome from most of the sites. About half have electric and there is a walk-in tent area as well as tent areas with walk downs. The tent areas have a centrally located hydrant for shared use.
Every site that I looked at, lake side had trails to the lake. The campground is split into a loop and an out and back section. The latrine on the out and back was closed for the season. The showerhouse on the loop side looked brand new and was very well kept. My only issue was the long walk to the latrine/showerhouse from the out and back tent areas…..do you really think people walk that far …..
There are two host sites with wood for sale. I saw one of the hosts who came to my site to check me in soon after my arrival. He was professional and friendly.
Nearby fuel and food. I have AT&T, only one bar. Fishing, swimming, kayaking and whatever other water sports you have. Be a good group camping area.

I really like Morganton Point camp ground. It’s nothing fancy but the grounds are clean and the facilities are well taken care of. The beach and swimming area is an easy 8-10 minute walk from most campsites. Definitely recommend.

Small campground, a few nice waterfront spots for small RVs, 6 tent camping spots all waterfront. Very nice clean & newish bathrooms. Dump station was also clean, large & new feeling. There were some sewage winds in sites near the bathroom.

We had site #5 and we think it’s the best one in the campground. Great Lake view, lots of trees, very spacious, and distance between neighbors. This campground was clean and quiet, and the bathhouses were spotless. We will be back.

This place is great. The spaces are spaced out, so you don’t feel like you are on top of each other. We were on lot 7 which was right on the lake. The view was perfect. Water and electric worked great. The bathrooms were immaculate and heated, plenty of hot water. Will definitely come camp here again. From metro ATL, it’s just under a 2 hour drive up.
We stayed at Morganton for a couple days in late September. Well kept sites, beautiful lake views, great camp host, and the bathhouse was clean. Some sites have water and electric, and some do not. The best sites are further away from the entrance and near the lake. We were on site 3 (near entrance), which was spacious and level, so we had two vehicle and our 17' Casita with plenty of room left over. However, there is large, bright light that comes on at dusk and stays on all night. Lots of hiking around, and we took a canoe paddle on the Toccoa River. The town of Blue Ridge nice with lots of shops and restaurants, albeit busy on a Saturday. We will definitely come back again, as we really enjoyed our time here.

I loved staying here all the time but the ground man has gotten to be pretty rude. His wife is great but her husband is not nice. Looking for other places to stay for that reason
Ah, Blue Ridge…We absolutely love Blue Ridge, Georgia. This time around we hit up Morganton Point and it was ah-mazing! I’m going to give you the low down on this picturesque spot to camp. For a more detailed visual, see the video below. In most Florida State Parks, where we frequent, you are always halted by a ranger at the entrance. Here, you just stroll in, find your spot if you have a reservation and someone will be along to see you or put your stuff down at an open walk-up site and go find the host. A peculiar notion for us, but not unwelcomed. The hospitality was wonderful and the hosts were polite and kind. The campground and recreation area have many access points to Lake Blue Ridge, in the Chattahoochee National Forest. The lake offers many recreation opportunities including swimming, boating, picnicking, fishing, camping, and hiking. Rentals are available from the store front in Morganton or the beachside location. The campground is fully equipped with fire rings, showers, electric and non-electric sites, and picnic tables. You can purchase firewood and ice and they deliver it right to your site. I love when places do this, it makes me feel slightly fancy while camping! I reserved our spot on recreation.gov a month prior to our stay and there were still many options. However, there were no pictures. We were right next to the camp host, which was pretty nice – we didn’t have to go far to ask for wood or ice! Plus, there were trails leading right to the lake. I had read that some sites that are along the lake and get incredible sunset views (these weren't available at the time of our booking), but in my opinion you really have to go to the end of the beach or boat ramp for the best views. Other campsites get the sunrise, and these are along the lake as well. The beach is extremely clean and the rental shop by the lake and rents kayaks and paddleboards. However, it is a little pricey if you plan on doing it. It was $35 for a kayak or paddleboard. For the two of us it wasn’t worth the price. The bathrooms near the front of the campground are very clean and recently built. There is a second bathhouse towards the back of the campground as well, but not as modern and smaller. Many campsites are along the lake and some have access to the lake. We viewed many campers who had their boats tied up right at their site and access to the water. In my own experience: While site 1 was nice, there was a very bright light at night, is next to the host and the site is not level. The campgrounds near the entrance are not as secluded, but they are closer to the newer restrooms – which are nice and kept very clean. As I took my morning walks around the grounds, there were many many sites I wish I had instead. My site wish list: 6, tent sites A-F, 9, 13, 14, 33, 34, and 35

The lake is the most beautiful thing about this place and nice bathrooms

We camped for two nights in May of 2018 in our Winnebago Micro Minnie 2108DS(21 Ft). We camped in campsite 29. The site and all the sites near us only had power and water, no sewage. Not too big of a deal. The site had a pretty steep back in but had a level pad. Not sure how a larger camper would have leveled. May have been ok. The site was really shady and near the bathrooms. Lake access was through a short trail. We liked the campground because it is pretty cheap, quiet and shady. The better campsites seem to be 1-7. I think some of those have sewage hookup and they are right on the lake with good views.

We stayed at Morganton in October. The campground was busy, but it was still quiet. We stayed in the tent only "hike in" sites -- some are closer than others, but I wouldn't call any of them a hike, just a short walk. It's a bit of a walk to the nearest bathroom from, but not too bad. The bathrooms looked brand new when we went, and were very well-kept.
Our site (D) would have been waterfront if the lake weren't so low from the drought. It still made for a beautiful and peaceful setting. The tent only sites are on a little peninsula of their own, so it was quiet and more secluded than the rest of the campground.
Nearby Blue Ridge is a good place to stock up on anything you forgot to pack, but it's also worth a visit just to walk around the cute downtown area. They have several nice outdoor stores, some breweries, and lots of restaurants to choose from.

We had a good visit here - would recommend reservations if you go. Also, there are a few rules that you need to know. No alcohol is allowed and if you're wanting to put a kayak / paddleboard on to Lake Blue Ridge using the campgrounds beach, you have to put in with the boats or receive a large fine. (kid safety). All of that to say - once we figured out the lay of the land, we enjoyed ourselves.
