Nice campground for a short stay.

This is a nice State Park campground with about 50 sites. There are 2 pull through sites, and 2 full hook up sites. The rest are back in with water & electric. The sites are level b but there are done tight turns. Sites are also very close together, so very little privacy. There is a big lake with a swimming beach dispute signs everywhere warning of alligators! There is also a big picnic area with several shelters and. Playground, which includes some adult cardio equipment. The dog park is large, with two sections and grass. The showers and bathrooms are clean and modern. This is a convenient place for exploring Okefenokee Swamp. The private Swamp park is only 20 minutes away, and the National Wildlife Refuge is about an hour. Both offer boat tours of the swamp.

Nicely kept, not much to do

The camping area is very small, with sites close to each other and no privacy (flat area, tall pines without vegetation between sites). Having said that, it was pretty quiet; mostly used by retirees. It has a cute dog park, with areas for large and small pups. It has clean bathrooms and washer dryer that accepts apple pay. Park has a tiny beach for its tiny lake. Unfortunately, the very small lake is used by jet skiers and ski boats so very loud and no good for swimming, paddling or fishing except really early or late in the day. Two short trails are cute with tortoises. The bugs are enthusiastic so if you’re not ready to bathe in DEET, you will pay the price. Good park to spend the night on the way somewhere.

Well kept and great staff

Great view of the lake from Site 11. Office staff and hosts were all very pleasant and have done a good job keeping things clean. Bathrooms/Showers were clean if well-worn. We walked the reasonably short hiking trail to the boardwalk which crosses the lake. WiFi worked well.

Beautiful campground

This is such a beautiful park! The grounds were always clean. The trails were always clean. The boardwalk was significantly damaged by hurricane Helene, so part of that trail is closed. It’s quiet and dark at night. We loved sitting at the gazebo and just watching the water. It’s so nice to see the playground area for the kids. They even have an outdoor workout gym area. There are a ton of places to sit under pavilions. The outdoor areas are so amazing.

I wish I knew more about our site when I booked it. Our site was very unlevel thanks to tree roots. How dare they grow there. 🤣🤣 Our site did not have any room in the back and it was oddly placed with two other sites. Thankfully we had nice neighbors, so it wasn’t a concern. I felt bad sitting near our rug because we were looking into the back of another RV. I didn’t want them to feel creeped out by us, so we tried to put our chairs at the front of our RV. We also had a power line in our spot, so we had to go at an angle to stay clear of it. If we go back, I would definitely go for a spot on the outer ring. I do have to say, this is the only park we’ve been to where people just cut through sites to get over to the bathhouse. We were sitting outside and people were only a few feet away from us to cut through. I know it’s not a written rule, but just etiquette. They easily could’ve walked ten feet to the right to cut through the empty space instead of our site.

The bathhouse near our site is definitely on the older side (we didn’t investigate the other one since it wasn’t near us). The water pressure was on the lower end and one showers was missing a shower head. Yes, we use the bathhouse because there are four of us and our site did not have full hookups. We also prefer to stretch out in the shower versus the tiny shower in our RV. That is our choice. They do have washers ($0.75) and dryers ($1.00).

The camp hosts were nice. All of the state park employees were very nice and helpful.

Nice place but…

We enjoyed our stay. The facilities were clean but there were a few things that I wouldn’t mind seeing improved or changed. But none that would stop me from coming back.

The lake is fairly small they do not have a no wake rule or HP limit. So if you go out in a kayak or canoe and there is just one boat pulling a tube you should expect a rough day on the water.

Our site really could use to be refurbed with a more defined site boundary and picnic area.

Site 19 is a bit tight to back in but it’s doable.

Very nice state park

This state park is typical of Georgia state parks in that it is clean, mowed and well kept. Sites are situated so there is some privacy on your table side although fairly open. I do not think there are any sewer hookups and our site (32) has 30 amp. We are here Monday to Thursday and it is very quiet and peaceful. We will definitely come back. We stayed here in a 35’ Montana fifth wheel.

Small but great park!

This is a very nice little. The is a small lake to paddle and swim and the Nature Trail is a nice and easy hike, about 3 miles going across the lake and back. It is very close to Waycross and Okefenokee Swamp Park with guided boat tours. We stayed on site 26 which is one of 3 25 ft or smaller sites.

Awesome place!

This is a fabulous little campground! Friendly, helpful staff, clean bathrooms and showers, hot showers, golf course, trails, beautiful lake and close to Okefenokee Swamp. There's a group camp facility really cute cabins to rent, a marina and lots of waterfront picnic area. Great place for groups! I was there to see the swamp and attend an SOTF campout. Wifi is spotty sometimes. I'll definitely return if I ever get to this area again.

Nice quiet adn relaxing

LSW is a nice quiet park. Playground for the kids. Walking trails, boardwalk on one end of the lake. Lake isnt big, boats and jet skis are limited. I hear the fishing is good. Lots of open areas to enjoy. Bikes, canoes and kayaks to rent.

We were in site#2. Nice level site. The site directly behind us was somewhat close, but otherwise a good site. We have friends in#30 and#31, not too close but not too far away.

The hosts did a good job of keeping the bathhouse clean and stocked. The office staff were helpful and nice. Over all a nice park that we will visit again.

Great Lake, a little crowded.

If you aren’t lucky to get one of the sites right on the lake the inner sites can get a little crowded with very little privacy. One of the sites farther off the lake hugging the treeline would have been nice. Otherwise nice facilities and great playground. Swimming area and kayaks to rent. Nice cabins, but quite a hike to them if you have friends staying there.

Dark sky park

Laura Walker SP is located at Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge and is a designated dark sky park. The campground is clean and level. Lots of trees, but the sites are not crowded. Showers and bathroom were clean with lots of hot water. Hiking, wildlife.

Relaxing and quiet

Nice smaller campground, Relaxing and quiet. Has a window of time when boats on jetskis can be on the water allowing for a more peaceful atmosphere in the morning and evening. Down side only 2 sites have full hook up with one being the camp host.. showers and restrooms were clean but without full hookup I expected them to be bigger... 4 showers for 30+ sites on a lake seems light. However we had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed being able to kayak without worrying about boats & jetskis

So much fun

This park is so close to the Okefenokee. We spent the whole day hanging out. This campground is pristine. The campsites are a little crowded but if you can get close to the water beautiful.
