Last days of summer
We went near the end of August and had a nice little get away. This park is so peaceful and a great place to go to just sit back, relax and enjoy the views. We were in site 22 which was a pull through right on the lake. My only issue with the site was that it was very unlevel but it was very close to the water and right beside a small fishing dock which was great for my son who loves to fish. Sites have electrical hookups and there is access to a grey water dump but not full sewer access. This was fine since we were only there for the weekend. On this particular trip we didn’t use the bathhouse so I can’t comment on that but since our trip they have opened a new bath house. I took my kayak and enjoyed kayaking on the lake with my kids. We also went to the historic mill and museum that was onsite which was neat. Additionally while there was no swimming in the lake, the park ranger gave me a tip on a local swimming hole just down the road called the shoals and I took the kids there to play in the water and cool off for a while.
