Waterfront Lake Sidney Lanier
Bolding Mill campground is a hidden gem, a US Army Corps of Engineers standout. Almost every site is lake front. Much of the surrounding area is undeveloped, so views are natural and pristine. Miles of walking & hiking trails, separate sandy beach area. Picnic tables & fire pits at every site. Firewood $5 per bundle, sold at entry gate. Plenty of space between campsites. Restrooms are clean. A separate sandy beach includes a swimming area sectioned-off from boats by rope float. Lots of resident vultures at the swimming area, so keep your picnic food in a sealed container. Lake water is cold, so floaties are best to keep at least part of your bod out of water and in sun. Muddy bottom. Water visibility not great, so don’t drop anything you care about! Only downside: no camp store, and no community or shop nearby. So bring everything you hope to cook/eat/use or you’re out-of-luck for your stay- or unhooking for an errand-run drive at least 30 mins away.
