A nice, shady campground for families looking to swim or hike.
A cool spring fed swimming hole centers 2 camping loops. Be forewarned-locals do not provide a serene experience for those that lack patience with others. While pets are not allowed, don't expect a lower noise level. I've been a dozen times and half of them I'd rather hear dogs barking than loud country music, redneck battle cries, and country parents scolding screaming kids. Not that there's much parenting, just shouting. It's a great place, but it's no vacation for seniors or someone looking for a quiet spot. There's a great hiking trail. The bath houses are clean but very dated like most state facilities.
