Nice small State park, with decent clean sites
This state park is really pretty small and can be explored extensively in a relatively short amount of time. However, because of its size it's also pretty well maintained. The facilities we nice and clean and easily accessible from all the sites. The sites themselves all come with the standard amenities and you have a decent amount of tree/brush cover from the road, however, as it's mostly a flatwoods pine forest you don't get much coverage between sites and you can see your neighbors pretty well. I had one of the pull in/back in sites but liked how the tent sites had a bit of fencing and separated them from the other sites a tiny bit more...
I was in 13 and could look right over to 12 with no obstruction...Looking at the other sites, you could see right into most of your neighbors and some had little to no real separation.
The park itself is interesting, with Florida's "largest" waterfall at a massive 73 feet...although it is falling into a sink hole. They're redoing the trails to make them more accessible to everyone with paved ramps to the lake and updated boardwalks through the flatwoods. They also have these posts set up to have the public assist in documenting the regrowth after some old fires which is cool. Unfortunately, the walkthrough of the sinkholes was under repair when I was there, but seemed like it would have been interesting, but don't want to be walking through a bunch of holes in the ground when the boardwalks are unsafe... So, next time.
