Pleasantly surprised

We had an excellent experience at this camp ground. The Staff and Rangers were polite and welcoming. We were able to see some boat races and played a round of disc golf on property. Once the boat races finished each day the camp was very quiet and peaceful. Had a great weekend

Quaint State Campground

Large campsites, Nice basketball court, Decent bathrooms for a state campground, only complain is that they close the gate to enter at 9pm

Lean-to camping

We stayed at one of their lean-to sites a few years ago with 3 other friends and had a good time. Very convenient to have the elevated space to sleep and store items in. The sites were not very secluded from each other, but there were not a lot of other campers when we went so it wasn’t a problem for us. They have bathrooms and showers close by that (if I remember correctly/things haven’t changed too much in the past couple of years) were in relatively decent shape compared to others I’ve been in at campgrounds. They also had plenty of firewood to purchase at the check-in. You can start hiking the trails around the lake right from campsite. We were slightly disappointed that the lake was not suitable for swimming (as was posted), but it wasn’t a big deal. I can imagine that it would still be a good place to go for kayaking and canoeing as well. Have fun!

quaint and quiet!

with only 22 sitez and about half woth el3xtric and water, this basic family campground is perfect! centrally located bathrooms/showers basketball court, playground and ampitheatre to keep the kids busy. hiking trails galore, disk golf, and swimming nearby. so fun!

Great Kayaking!

We've camped here twice so far and can't wait to be back, This campground is very small and quiet, but the lake and adjoining river offer hours of fun for small craft. Take a long paddle up the river and you'll be escorted by hundreds of bluebirds and cedar waxwings. Fishing here is all catch and release.

The park rangers and camp staff are super friendly and helpful, and the facilities are kept neat as a pin all the time. There are plenty of hiking trails that we have yet to explore, but from the trail heads they look very well maintained.

This part of CT is very rural and quiet, but there is a large grocery store less than 2 miles away for anything you need. And there's Riverside Pizza less than a mile away, I highly recommend it!

Beautiful, clean and quiet!

The lake is pretty but you cannot swim or eat the fish. There are a lot of choices for hiking including a disc golf course.
