Nice spots for Dispersed
We drove up Thursday afternoon June 20. The directions on here are good. They take you off of Highway 9 and about 5 minutes you take a left and pass trail head (cant rmemeber the name) and parking lot and you continue on a pretty bumpy ride for about 10 minutes (you start hitting sites about 5 to 7 minutes in)
I have a higher clearance Nisson Murano (not 4wd) and drove pretty slow. There are a lot of ruts and large rocks you need to maneuver around. Even getting there by 4pm on a Thursday the 1st 9 sites were already gone so I drove I to the area where there were 5 or so sites together. There was only 1 other site taken so I took the farthest one from it (Site 14). Definitely was the best in that grouping because it was farther away from the others. 1 other guy showed up later around 9pm. He was in a low clearance and had a flat from the drive.
Site 14 was great as there is a nice flowing creek right behind so offers that peaceful sound and helps drown out other people. Come Friday night all sites were taken and I think some people actually camped in places they weren't supposed too. So it got pretty crowded
I don't know what sites 15 through 23 look like as I didn't want to drive on that road anymore. We hiked and went to Dillon Amphitheater so in the 4 days we were there had to drive in and out 8 times so keep that in mind it will put some wear on your vehicle if you are leaving a lot to do other things In Summer I'd assume if you want closer sites to get there by Wednesday if you can.
Great firepits. No trash can anywhere so you will have to haul out your trash.
