Beautiful Campground.
This is a lovely campground with a very friendly host. However, if you want a quiet campground, it may not meet your expectations. Because of its proximity to Denver, we can constantly hear the jets flying in and out of the airport. Also, the highway is quite close and seems a popular spot for motorcyclists, resulting in audible engine sounds. Furthermore, the audibility of a nearby shooting range adds to the ambient noise level.
It is worth mentioning that the presence of children at the campground may be considered an advantage for families seeking a child-friendly environment. However, this could also lead to occasional disruptions as the children engage in lively activities, including playing on the road, shouting, and creating a bustling atmosphere. Furthermore, the campground was not exempt from the sounds of babies and toddlers crying at various hours.
As for amenities, the main camping area provides only one toilet, which is diligently maintained but often results in waiting in line due to the high number of campers in need of its use.
On a positive note, our campsite had a very nice, large picnic table and a fire pit with an adjustable grate. It also had a grill and a very nice flat area for our tent.
Despite the aforementioned drawbacks, I wholeheartedly recommend this campground. Our decision to stay here was primarily motivated by its convenient 40-minute distance from the Renaissance Festival in Larkspur, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the campground.
