I’ll give this place a 5 for scenery and beauty/nature and a 2 for lake access for waterfront sites. From Rosa Loop (the full hookup loop) it’s about 2 miles to the beach each way even though it’s literally the ugh below you. There is a steep Rocky and sticker burr infested slope. Very steep. Be prepared to climb down and up with your kids or animals or drive walk instead. Beach is kinda meh but my dogs enjoyed it. All required baths from the mud afterwards tho lol. Peaceful place. Out of the way from interstates so probably a lesser visited park. Still.. at close to $500 spent (after day fees not included in the online reservation $9/day or pay $80 for annual pass), I’d prefer easier access to the main attraction.. the water. So.. I’d come back. Maybe. But it’s a hard 3 for me.
