Nice, Some Sketchy People
This is a free, very primitive campground right off of highway along the Colorado River. BUT there is a lot of road noise for the sites closer to the road, as well as a train that runs along the highway that comes through periodically.
There are also occasional big trucks that go up and down the dirt road in. There were only a couple of other campers there at the time we were there. One was a tent camper and another looked to be settled in for the long haul and was passed out in a chair with his truck doors flung wide open and appeared a bit on the sketchy side.
We watched a couple of fly fisher people catch some fish in the river. There were no designated spots just some open areas to park in where you can. The road is dirt and rocky and has some deep pot holes but was doable in our 26’ class C. There was also a much bigger class A parked further down the road a bit. Spots are mostly level and fairly clean of litter. There was a porta potty but no trash service or water besides the river.
So pack in and pack out.
No decent cell reception from ATT, Verizon or TMobile.
