Stunning Views and Clean Sites

On arrival the road in was easy to navigate and the host was ready to greet us. At the campsite there was not a piece of trash in site. Lots of gophers around but cute and kept their space. They kept our dog plenty busy :-). The facilities are very clean and up to date. The host was friendly and welcoming. She took the time to visit each site, say hello, and check in on their stay. Around the area the river is beautiful, the giant boulders are stunning, and the trails are easy and interesting.

A few tips for your stay:

  • The host was out of firewood so we needed to gather a small amount for our campfire. The next day the stock was back

  • The river gets some busy traffic with kids playing and fishing. If you can work your way into the more difficult water, there are fish to catch for sure.

  • The central campsites can get windy, but not unusual for Colorado

  • Granite Canyon General Store in Lake George is only a few minutes away and has a great supply of groceries and camping gear. (Not to mention, clean restrooms and running water)

  • Terryall Reservoir was a short and beautiful drive.  Great place to fish and have lunch.
