Well maintained riverside campground

This campground is nestled in a picturesque valley along the West Dolores River. The drive in was incredible, like postcard worthy.

Drive further up 38 to hike to Geyser Spring, or just a little bit further to get to Lizard Head Wilderness. Dolores is only about 25 minutes away if you need some last minute groceries or supplies.

The camp host, Tim, was especially friendly and kept the camp clean. I saw him cleaning the bathrooms a couple times, and honestly I think they were the cleanest bathrooms at any campground I’ve ever stayed.

The only drawbacks to this camp: the sites aren’t really private and I wasn’t a fan of the taste of the drinking water and it came out a little brownish. I’m sure it’s safe, but I had to go to town to get better water to make my morning coffee.

Drawbacks aside, I will definitely visit again if I’m in the area.
