Gorgeous
What a great spot to spend the day. Traveled to Colorado from NJ and this is spot is really breathtaking and relaxing.

I was very thankful to have such a great park as an option near Denver. The campground was very clean and all the hosts that I spoke with were very nice. The campground was very comfortable and I don't have anything bad to speak of about it. We are planning to stay there again soon!
Camped here one night as we prepared to leave Colorado for home. The park is in the city, but surprisingly doesn’t feel that way. The place was busy and no privacy between sites. Bathrooms were clean and well kept. There were a few “interesting” characters in the park. Felt like they came here to party and hangout on the weekend. It was a convenient camping experience.
We arrived in Denver area on October 12th, who would've guessed it would snow. We spent 25 years in Florida...so this was a treat. 3 days later it was 60 again. The campground it spacious, level, paved, lots of green space. The staff here is helpful and organized. The campground is almost always sold out every weekend but they have a wait list you can be on starting at 9am...we were lucky enough to extend. Plenty of city conveniences nearby and they have free wifi that works great!
My family and I tend to do more boondocking camping than any other. But occasionally we go to Cherry Creek State Park. We love the fact that we live 10 minutes away and yet when we get into the park we feel miles away from town. On a clear day at the swim beach you have an amazing view of the mountains too. The campgound is extremely clean. The bathrooms are extremely nice to use, and the showers were pretty cheap as well. My family loves this park.
We were shocked to find such a beautiful and quiet campground so close to the Denver city-limits. The sites were pretty close together and didn’t offer much shade, and it was a perfect place to camp and kill a few days. The huge reservoir was amazing place to appreciate the views, as we were there during the solar eclipse. We were able to get ample beach time and I was able to do a decent amount of fishing in my inflatable kayak.
We boated on cherry creek lake and had a blast! It is a directional lake. About 30 minutes outside of Denver. There is a bathroom and volleyball court by the lake but nothing fancy and no beach.
Cherry creek has a lot to offer! We took our kids for the first time and our site was conveniently located to the restroom/showers! I wish we could have had more time to explore the area! Will be going again.
Staff super helpful and beautiful scenery.
good location downtown Denver, near the hospital we needed to go to, it served its purpose, then we headed to the mountains,, lol
Lots of space
This was a great location just outside of the city to relax in the heat. Water was a little chilly but very refreshing. Enjoyed walking around the area as well. Only set back is that I was not allowed to hang my hammock.
Great campground here at this state park. We have always stayed in the Arapahoe Group Loop for holiday weekends. Arapahoe Group Loop has a great pavillion with outdoor kitchen and bathroom. Overall Camper amenities are great and very clean. Many well shaded individual sites are available. Campsites are far from other park amenities like Dog Park, Shooting Range, Marina. Swim beach is a 10 minute walk-able distance from campground. Recommend driving to get around the park.
Always a good place.
Quick 1 night stay, clean bathrooms, LOTS of pavement. Quiet hours start WAAAAY too early for an early fall Friday night.
This place shouldn't be called a Campground. Fun day use spot if you want to access the reservoir or have some smores with friends, but it's pretty sad.
This is a nice, clean campground that is conveniently located in the middle of the city. However, it is also located in the middle of the city...so you can look at that as a good thing or a bad depending on what you're looking for. There is a large restroom facility with showers and laundry. Good option for camping in the winter because it's easily accessible, whereas a lot of the mountain camping you can't get to unless you have 4WD.
