Camper’s Creek Backcountry Campsite — Rocky Mountain National Park

Perfect Backcountry Site

As we hiked 2.7 miles into Sandbeach Lake Trail, we did not know what to expect of our campsite. We reached the “Camper’s Creek” sign, and followed a smaller trail about 100 yards off the main trail. All of the sudden, it opened up to about a 40ft X 20ft cleared space in the middle of dense pine trees. All we could hear was the wind through the tops of the trees. Couldn’t get any better. Not much of a view other than the sky above you, but that’s what makes it feel so secluded. If you’re looking for a campsite that makes you feel like you’re completely in the middle of nowhere, with access to creek water nearby, this is the spot for you!
