One of the most beautiful car camping grounds I have ever stayed in. We stayed in the Penn Creek campground which is tents and not RVs but there are RV sites in the neighboring campgrounds in the park.

Each site is tucked back in its own little green enclave, so even though the neighboring sites are close to you, you feel secluded.

We spent 2 nights, one at site 3, which was tucked back a little more than site 5 on our 2nd night ( we had to move sites because it’s popular in the summer and there wasn’t a site available 2 nights for our dates, so book early if you can)

We spent a day hiking through the grounds, our 11 year old daughter got to participate in the Junior Ranger Program, learning about the geology of the area. The Ranger helped us Ron identify some of the berries we’d seen along the path and which were edible.

We hiked down to Agate beach where you can collect Agate to take home (no other natural souvenirs are allowed).

Bathrooms with outlets, showers, potable water are easily accessible. Food lockers are at each campsite. Camp hosts were awesome and knowledgeable. Firewood was a little pricey at $8 per bundle, so you may want to bring your own or buy before you arrive as you are not allowed to gather firewood.

Great for families. I wish we could have stayed longer. It was incredible.
