The Best Camping Near Thousand Palms, California

We spent 2 weeks here. The weekly rate is much better than daily. It is a nice resort with clean amenities. The gym was great and the pool was not busy which made it a nice place to work from. The main downside is it is near the train tracks, which runs often. 

Expensive, and nice!

Wished we had stayed longer. It was almost empty which it was a positive for us as we are still facing a pandemic. Installation is pretty cleaned and well kept. They have a variety of RV spaces in size and prices. We had some difficulties reaching out to someone when we called but they always returned our called and gave us the information needed. Excellent customer service and definitely worth the price.  

Amazing place.... 

We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting our parents who live in Rancho Mirage. The resort is extremely clean, well-maintained, and quiet. We are normally boondockers, so it felt decadent having full hookups, daily trash pickup, and all the rest of Emerald Desert's amenities such as sparkling swimming pools, daily activities, free Saturday Continental Breakfast, etc. 

  

We upgraded to the"luxury" site which meant that the spacing between sites was a bit greater and we had a lovely patch of green grass between us and our neighbors. We have a very small trailer, so our only issue was the distance from our sewer connection and the resort's. With so many nearby stores, it just took a quick online order for curbside pickup at Wal-Mart for extra hose and we were good-to-go. Literally. 

  

As others have mentioned, Interstate 10 and a set of major East-West train tracks lie right behind the resort, but neither were very disruptive to us. YMMV. 

  

We will absolutely stay here again and again, and we highly recommend it to others. In fact, we challenge you to find a nicer RV resort anywhere else!

Definitely the high rent district!

Definitely not the norm for us to stay in a place like this, but we had some things to do in Palm Springs and wanted to be close.  With taxes and fees, and additional dog fees, we paid about $87/night, and that's in the cheapest spots.  Yipes. 

  

It's close to the freeway and the road noise is loud and never stops. There is also a freight train that frequently runs along behind the park, and it's very loud.

  

Other than the noise and the high price, it's a very nice RV park.  Lots of amenities and activities.  There's also free wifi, download/upload was pretty slow but streaming and browsing was good.  Two pools/hot tubs (one is adult only), tennis courts, library, gym, showers, laundry, 3 dog parks (one is under construction), trash pickup service (though I'm personally not a fan of leaving my bags of trash outside for someone to pick up), a club house, storage units, lots of community activities. We asked if they had recycling and they said to bag up our recycling and leave it out with the trash.

  

We stayed here for a weekend and had no reservations and there was plenty of room in November.

Laundry way too expensive at $5 for wash and $5 for 45 min dry. Credit card payment only and the dryer didn't dry our clothes all the way.

Wonderful amenities, courteous &amp; helpful staff, loaner equipment for golf, pickle ball, etc. clean, safe &amp; comfortable. 
30 amp plug in did not work &amp; water spigot needs a new washer. 
Lots of activities, plus brunch, on weekends.
