Trashy park

Several issues here. First the most obvious the connections are at the front of the space on the drivers side. If you back in you better have 100 feet of hose sewer and power cord. Reservations failed to tell me while on the phone that the power was out but they’re still charging full price. Most of the lots are dusty dirt lots well over half of the park is not in use and in disrepair. There is trash everywhere and the staff could care less if you’re enjoying yourself. Do yourself a favor and spend the 20 extra dollars to stay at Campland Overall a waste of money and beach front property

Wasn't Thrilled

Overpriced for a dirt spot, no ocean view at all. Ocean view sites full of expensive RVs that can afford the price. No market or cantina, for those you have to walk to Campland, not a short walk. Should've just stayed at Campland

Best on the beach!

Great spot for right by the water! We did a monthly stay… about $500 less than the campground right next to it. Quiet neighborhood at night, but a lot of families which makes it feel homey. Kids playing and people walking their dogs! More so adults than families in comparison to Campland. They were in the middle of construction during our stay, working on expanding the park which will be wonderful! There’s a path that goes along the bay that is about a mile long, and also a bridge that connects the park to Campland on the Bay. As a resident of mission bay, you will have full access to Campland, without paying the extra $$ to stay, if you don’t mind the walk/drive! Very close access to all of San Diego. Right off of the 5 for easy access. The phone service was non-existent, and the wifi didn’t reach our spot. Apparently after speaking with other residents, it doesn’t really reach most of the park. T mobile, ATT, And Verizon’s phone service all are very poor throughout the park. There is security at the front of the campground to wave every car into it. They are super nice and usually have a fire going at night. Spots are a little small, but you do have a patio. They each come with a patio table and a couple of trees. You will share a trash can with your neighbor, and they will come pick it up for you which is nice! Raccoons do come and will go through it, so make sure it’s closed right! There’s a nice basketball court and clean bathrooms. There is a gated pool and hot tub, we never used it since we just went to the beach / bay. everytime we walked by, it was empty! Overall great stay! Pricey, but if you want to be right in the heart of San Diego and close proximity to the water… it’s definitely one of the more affordable in comparison to nearby spots. Great stay!

Can't wait for their upgrades and new sites!

Right now, it's a big blacktop fenced in parking lot with holes in the asphalt for some trees.  It's still fun, a great location by the water and a great starting point to go on long bike rides.  or go to their almost private beach next to the SD Bay.  They just opened a pool and you can ride bikes across the bridge to Campland (Sister resort) and enjoy their full bar/restaurant and live entertainment.  Mission Bay RV is a bit more adult and quite compared to Campland.  They're in the long process of tearing down an old mobile home park on the water.  When that's finished Mission Bay RV will be the best campsite in San Diego.

Short and to the point

It’s a nice Rv resort. Big rig friendly pull through sites. Went Veterans Day weekend 2021 and the weather was perfect. Short walk to the water, De Anza Cove. The beach is a dog friendly after 4 p.m.

Comfortable and relaxing place in Mission Bay Park

Area may be undergoing big changes so we are taking advantage of one of the last long term stay parks in San Diego. Walking, biking, paddle boarding, boating, fishing all within the bay. Pacific, Mission, Ocean Beach areas and Bay Park are easy to get to by bicycle or Uber. Mission Bay RV and Campland parks are super busy all year round so you have to book at least a few months ahead to choose a site. If you are OK with moving sites within the park to accommodate other travelers you will love your stay.

Beach park

A large busy park a short walk to mission bay. 250 sites lots of kids and traffic. Close to a golf course. Plan on paying plenty to stay here. Clean bathrooms.

Party City!

Labor Day Weekend stay... we left Los Angeles to escape the heat wave. Arrived at 9pm and was pleasantly surprised with the vibe (glow lights everywhere, music, drinking). Definitely not your typical camping experience... more of a parking lot beach party vibe. There is a bike path nearby that is awesome for young kids.

Location is great and convenient.

Convenient and clean

We enjoy this park because of its proximity to the beach and boardwalk area. The park is clean, staff has always been helpful. We have had no issues. Spots are a little close together and some are hard to navigate into with things around, but we have a big rig also.

Just ok

Definite parking lot vibe. No tent spots. Access to nearby bay but it’s not IN the campground; although within walking distance. Ocean visible from some spots in the park but separated by an ugly chain link fence. You’re not camping ON the beach. Good for riding bikes. Also lots of kid friendly activities, like arts and crafts etc. Old but doable laundry facilities. This place needs some love but is in a good location.
