This was a "meh" kind of campground. Very loud traffic noise. We wanted to stay at Donner Memorial State Park but were unable to get reservations. We had a nice site right on the river and were able to put our chairs right next to the river and enjoy it ... until BUGS! Very buggy. We visited over Labor Day Weekend. Our site was small. We tested our propane heated hot water shower pump and shower enclosure for the first time here. TIP: Let water warm in the sun in a 5 gallon bucket as the ICY and our heater could not even get it to tepid, only cool, but we had an event to go to and needed to shower, so cool showers in the cool morning air it was. This was an okay campground for a stopover or if you are a fisherman. For a quiet getaway with large beautiful campsite ... nope. It all depends on what you are looking for.
