BLM mp 138.0 South spur dispersed is located near varied desert terrain in California. Temperatures can range from 40°F in winter to over 100°F in summer. Nearby, the Colorado River offers opportunities for water activities and exploration.

Each fall, winter, and spring seasonal visitors come to the Blue Cloud Camping Area located off of California State Highway 62 near Big River, California. Blue Cloud Camping Area is a primitive camping area and serves as an overflow area to the heavily used Colorado River Resorts. Camping at the site is restricted to 14 days within a 28 day period, however visitors keep coming back and are attracted to the area because of its close (but not too close) proximity to the town of Parker, AZ as well as its breathtaking views of the Whipple Mountains Wilderness area.

This BLM road spur is across the hwy to the south from the other 139.0 north BLM dispersed area.  However this site has much more open desert pavement fingers to camp on and access roads are better. Good cell and likely OTA tv, but no water, trash, restrooms or designated sites. Free BLM dispersed, 14d limit. This site is close to the boundary of the CRIT reservation lands.
