You either LOVE or HATE the desert. Its hard to find an in-between.  Black Meadow Landing is for all campers- whether you love or hate the desert BML will be a place that you will want to go back to. Just above the Parker Dam on the California side of fantastic Lake Havasu is a little slice of paradise.  I had been going to Black Meadow Landing from 1984 to 2013- I had tent camped there as a kid as well as RV-ing. 
You can find all of the amenities one would need while being in the middle of a desert oasis. Too hot for the tent you brought? Rent a hotel room (I have never been in the rooms). Dont feel like cooking? Go to the diner. Forget something? You have a store right there. Need Gas? They have an on-water Cheveron for your boating needs or your land-bound vehicle needs. 
I golfed here during the monsoon season- its far too hot during summer to bring your clubs.  
In the wonderfully hot nights I have chased wild burros attempting to get up close to them (as a young kid basically growing up here... stay away from wildlife.... watch and observe from afar). Wild Rams roam around every so often. Skunks will check out your trash at your site so be sure to dispose of your trash before you tuck-in for the night. 
Fishing is wonderful here. We used to fish from the docks and catch Large Mouth Bass and Catfish. Crayfish are plenty around the area and can be caught easily. You will see Carp and Perch and Bluegill as well. 
BML is right on the water and there are many RV sites that are waterside. I am not certain about tenting sites close to the water however you have a lagoon to swim in, a sheltered cove full of boating slips. 

Since this is Lake Havasu, be forewarned that during holiday seasons it can get pretty crazy busy and the crowds are plenty- on the water and at the lake even at this campground. Most of the ordeal is up in Havasu City and populates in the Channel and under the London Bridge... so you are a ways from it all however close enough to make the North End a day trip. 



Desert Camping at its easiest

To start off, it was very hot if you are not from the area. Temps got from around 108-116 during the day. If you are going be prepared to spend alot of time in the water, or be running you A/C nonstop.

The campgrounds were nice but seemed small overall. The location we stayed was right next to the lagoon and we were not able to fully extend our awning with our slide out without it going into the next camp over. 

We started with an electrical ground fault, but maintenance did come out and correct that. Then we found that we were unable to run our A/C and microwave without tripping the power supply. 

There is a small golf course included in your stay, but balls and clubs are not available for rent if you don't bring your own. 

There is a store on sight and a dinner with basic food if you want to not cook a meal. There is no fire pits or fire aloud. There is no cell service.

By boat, it is about a 30min ride to Lake Havasu. By vehicle it is an hr drive. The road to the campground does become a little rough and tight 2 lane around some sharp turns, but not much traffic.

The lagoon from pictures looked great for young children to play in. When we got there the water level was low throughout the river and the lagoon was only about half full.

Overall was a nice stay with great views, amenities, and very easy access to the river, but hot weather, small spaces, and on the more expensive side. We did stay over the 4th of July weekend (3 nights) and our cost was $300. 

Personally would recommend for those with smaller campers or don't have slidouts and have a plan for the summer heat.

Also we were able to see a few fireworks from on top of the hill.

Sweet little Oasis

It's a nice enough place. People here are a lot if fun. Golfing, Disc Golf, horse shoe, bocci ball, marina, club house with a ton of activities from yoga and sewing to line dancing and pub nights.

Rv longterm 55+

We made a reservation a couple days before arrival and got a spot on the water. We noticed a big red ant hill and they gave us a few other spots to pick on the water. So we moved the next day. People really nice. Yes bathrooms are old but they serve the purpose and were clean. Enjoyed our stay.
