Great Owners

The owners were very friendly and helped direct us to our site and made sure we got backed in with no issue. It is a ”resort” style campground meaning your parked very close to each other. Considering it’s one of the few, if not only full hook up site in the Jasper area we figured we would give it a shot. There was a review mentioning being blocked in since there 2 campers on one row. That is true that 2 camper share a row, however the owners made it clear that it’s planned out that we wouldn’t be blocked in. They plan a long and a short trailer so there’s plenty of room length wise, the person parked in front of you is also checking out a day before you. On top of all that, there is always room to hookup your truck and leave, it’s just a tight fit and more of a parallel parking situation to get to your hitch. Showers and bathrooms were spotless. I also had very slow draining sewer hookup. I think they’re working on that, they had a plumber on site snaking the drains. Overall absolutely no complaints, it’s exactly how it’s portrayed on sites. Not my typical camping setup but for being a resort style, still was a great trip.

Kind, beautiful and accommodating

My Drive to the campsite was beautiful. The new owners are extremely kind & accommodating.

My cabin was perfect for my dog & I. I’m excited to see the updates to visit again.

Rustic

Dogwood Springs in Jasper AR is definitely rustic and unpolished with regard to its setting.  RV sites do have full hook-ups although we had an issue with the sewer draining properly on site 31. With only one bath room each for men and women and one shower each as well, they do provide the basics. We had an opportunity to peek into a cabin and we were very impressed with the set up, having a full bath and mini-kitchen. It was well appointed and inviting.

The lay-out of the campground is a bit odd in that some sites are only accessible by driving through another.

The view from site 31 included that of Round top mountain but also vacant, declining commercial buildings near the campground.

Proximity to stores and restaurants in Jasper was handy.

Not what it seems

This is a very small place. They call it a resort for some reason but all it really is... a small piece of land where everything is crammed together. When we got there they couldn’t figure out where they wanted us to set up. We have a 25ft travel trailer. When we first got there the guy was very friendly and helpful that’s the only positive thing about this place.

Back to they couldn’t find us a spot. The first slot was a pull through. Well this doesn’t work because they have two slots together. With both hook ups on the same side. What happens is the camper sets up and had to leave their vehicle out of the way parked else where.. the second camper backs in in front of ur camper blocking your hitch. So both campers are facing the same way the one in back being blocked off.. We said no this will not work for us. If we leave before the person u put in front of us we won’t be able to hook up to our camper. He said good point...

Then he moves us to some spot that’s basically on the road just pushed off to the side. This isn’t even a camp spot. It was just a spot that had a water hose hook up kinda close. He turned the water on it and it came Out looking like mud. I said nope, either find us a reliable spot or refund us our money. Well they don’t refund... so he ended up putting us back in the original spot but up front instead of the back spot. We were ok with this at least we could leave if we chose and wouldn’t be blocked in...

Keep in mind if you go here....when I say it’s a very small, tight, jammed up place... this is not an exaggeration. All the spots are pretty much right next to the other spot. There is no privacy. You leave ur camper your basically on your neighbors spot.

They charge way to much for this place, it’s a rip off. At least for, travel trailers or rvs.

Refunded.

A months advance paid in full reservation should grant you a site you can actually get into. But not at Dogwood springs it doesn’t! Got there and they had booked the other pull through site right in front of ours. Couldn’t get our camper into the site!

Older But Well Maintained

Nice place for the weekend.  Lots of exploring to do all within about 10 miles.  Beautiful area in general.

Awkward layout

The campground was friendly. Not much room to spread out. Its pull through sites two trailers per pull through. If you sit out in chairs by your camper you’ll be looking into your neighbors camper. Also poison ivy growing up trees in the campsites. Not my favorite location.

Love this place!

The owner was extremely nice. He went over the trails in the area & marked the ones I wanted to go to on a map - which was extremely helpful since I kept losing cell service/gps while driving. The tent site where I stayed had a picnic table with a lean-to over it & electric. They provided some firewood as well. There are bathrooms & showers. Nothing fancy, but after a long day hiking the shower was a godsend. I'll definitely stay there again!

Scenic Views!!

Privately owned and just off from a scenic overlook which will leave you breathless!! The owners were so nice here and the prices were great!!

Accommodations were very well maintained and by far some of the best I have found in this area. Not your typical hole in the wall campground.

Very close to numerous outdoor activities including climbing, kayaking and fishing. I found it a great place to just escape and enjoy views and wildlife.

Felt like home.:)

Camping at Dogwood Springs Campground in Arkansas was amazing! The owner was so full of hospitality and worked around our schedule! They have showers and toilets for free which kind of made me feel like I was at a hotel. He also gave us a good price on the crash pads when we rented them to go climb at Horseshoe Canyon Ranch!
