Beautiful campground

Campground is clean and well maintained. Only bathroom on “island” part is flush toilets with the showers the rest are not. The restroom with showers has no ventilation or fans and it’s HOT! There are many places to swim other than swim beach. Other than the restroom being hot it was an excellent trip and a wonderful place to camp

Great site now!

This campground has gone through an extensive renovation this year and has bigger and more accessible sites. The water sites are all “on the water”! Very easy to get a bigger rig into these sites.. not the easiest drive to get here but worth the effort! The island sites are by far the best but the new shore side sites are great for smaller campers or tents. One of our favorite campgrounds in Beaver Lake.

Camping on an island !

This is my favorite camp ground. We go there several times a year. The fishing is good and the view is great. Nice breeze off the lake makes it nice in hot weather.

Island camping fully accessible

The main camping area is on an island that you drive onto, how cool is that?! Unfortunately, it was temporarily closed due to Covid19, and a lot of the sites were flooded from high water anyway. I took a walk over the spit of land connecting the camping island with the mainland and walked around the small(maybe a couple acres) island. Here’s what I saw: every site had water and electric hookups, a picnic table, and a fire ring. Sites right on the lake(and some very much under water) also had a pavilion covering the picnic tables. Sites in the middle had nice mature tree cover, but weren’t necessarily as level as the lake sites. The bathhouse was closed, but looked fairly new or at least well maintained. I didn’t see any boat launches or places to bring your boat right up to sites, but back on the mainland is a public boat launch. There are also some sites along the lake on the mainland, also with electric and water hookups.

Quiet camping with great fishing.

This Corps of Engineers campground provides the necessities for fishermen. Reservable and walk up sites with picnic tables, electric and water hookups. Some with shelters. Showers and restrooms are well maintained. The office is closed two days a week but you can pay the attendant at their site. Access to the Norfork River means you can be fishing early before they start generating for the day (check the generation schedule at SWPA.com). When you’re not fishing on the river you can take a tour of the fish hatchery across the road or ride up to the lake for a swim. Dry Run Creek, which runs by the hatchery to the river, is only fishable by kids 16 and younger or those with mobility impairments, but it’s still a beautiful place for a walk or picnic even if you don’t get a shot at one of the thousands of trout.

Beautiful island campground

Love camping on this island, but sites fill up quickly on weekends and holidays. Most sites are waterfront. As suggested by the name, the dam is nearby, providing a pretty sight after dark. Not all sites are shaded. Island has flooded in the past, so if there has been local flooding, check to make sure it is open. Great campground for boaters, too. Pets are welcome, showers and drinking water available. Sites are electric.

Beaver Lake Campground

This was a Great Campground with Beautiful views. No water hook ups on site 24 but we were right on the water Nice Staff. For you RV campers nice Dump Station. Will definitely be back.

The only negative thing was the road was closed across the Dam so we had to go a longer route road should be open in 3 weeks.
