Head out for a trip to Willow Beach Campground for fun on the water! Located in the Black Canyon region of the Colorado River, Willow Beach has 235 miles of shoreline to explore with some of the most unique scenery and wildlife to see. As a part of the Lake Mead National Recreation area in Arizona, we have boating rentals available to complete your trip including canoes, powerboats, and other watercraft to enjoy a day out on the water. Campgrounds and RV spaces are also available to extend your stay as well as marina services including a lakeside convenience store, gift shop, and restaurant.
We went here hoping to find free camping—it was the end off September and they were closed. It is now a private campground and we would have had to pay if they’d been open.
Nice cold water, WiFi, clean bathroom, Fishing, rental kayaks, picnic area, and very clean willow Beach.
Not far from Vegas lots of amenities the water in lake Mohave is way cleaner and clear bring your scuba gear kayak canoe boat can’t go upriver towards the dam on Sunday’s with a motor paddle only keep that in mind great fishing and spear fishing no limit on carp great for target practice invasive species and don’t hurt the channel catfish or Razorbacks I’ve seen big horn sheep around the camp and waters edge fish cleaning station small store boat rentals everything in one amazing spot go for it !! You won’t be disappointed but keep in mind it does get crowded get your spot early unless your launching a boat and find a spot on the river I recommend way better some old mining equipment upriver to see and hot springs
Just bought my camper so this was the close place to test it and it is wonderful. No cell reception but free WiFi is a bonus! Bathrooms were very clean and new. Half of the camping spots were pull throughs which are nice if you are still practicing to back in. Trailer spots are next to the tent spots. Can walk down to the water a little ways where there is a small place to eat. Very dark at night and great to see stars!
We stayed at one of the tent spaces that are walk up but it is a small walk. Wonderfully views, clean bathrooms and showers. Loved this campground the beach is a short drive but super nice. The store is super nice, didn't try the restaurant but will next time.
I had been staying in this area for a while searching for various campsites and had been to the Arizona Hot Springs a couple times, continually seeing people pulling in via boat and never knew where they were launching from, until I found this place. it seems like this place is where it all begins for those adventures.
With much of the area being desolate looking around, this was like an oasis just waiting to be discovered. It isn't that there is some magic lawn that spawns up out of the desert sands and makes it look like something it isn't, though there is grass that isn't what I am speaking on. Instead it is that this place is very commercial in comparison to almost every other campground in this area, much of which are barebones and basic. This site however has nice showers and bathrooms, a restaurant, gift shop, a marina, fishing dock, boat rentals and a laundry. Unlike so many campgrounds the sites here are also WIFI ready.
The tent site I checked out was $30 but included access to the ramp which is why a lot of people choose this site for their adventures. This is one of the best launch areas in way of well maintained sites you will find on this side of the Lake Mead Recreational Area.
I enjoyed a great shower here with amazing pressure, had awesome night sky views down by the water and finally was able to figure out just where all these people were getting their water fix. Not to mention there was some great access to rock scrambling along the shore line for some amazing peaceful places to relax and take in the clearness of the water.
Come early or call in advance, there are only 6 tent sites. Everything else is set up for an RV.
Check out their discounts available for veterans which is a great deal.
I love going to this site because you can camp near the Colorado River and go kayaking or boating. It is such a nice campground
This review is for the boat in site at Arizona Hot Springs along the Colorado, just before Willow Beach.
We camped here with about 4 other parties and had plenty of privacy. There is a pit toilet (BYO toiletpaper), and lots of level areas to camp.
Be aware of the varying water levels! Tie up your boats and camp far back. Fellow campers told us that they had seen the water rise all the way to the main rock splitting the area.
PERK! At night, you get the fabulous Arizona Hot Spring slot canyon all to yourself. When you are in the spring, you can see where others have brought candles that melted into the walls. Excellent star gazing, and we had no issues with critters!
Great place to camp on the Colorado River. They have a 24 hour showers (clean) a nice marine with a dock and marina and some great fishing. Perfect place to camp for some boating and fishing and If you want a little night life Las Vegas is only about 45 minutes away. Keep your eyes opened for wild Burros and Big Horn Sheep!
This campground is more for RV. There is also space for tents. This is an ok campground in my opinion with showers and running water. The price is on the low side of 20 dollars
