Lone Rock Beach Primitive Camping Area — Glen Canyon National Recreation Area

Do no underestimate the wind and sand

I only give this place one star because when the sky turns black and the wind picks up you have about 10 minutes to get into your car or rv. The sand that blows with the wind blinds you, makes it hard to breath and gets in your mouth. Do not underestimate the wind, if you try to steak down your stuff last minute good luck. We were sheltering in our truck and saw three tents float by in the lake.

Even on a mild wind day the wind carries the sand and makes this spot hard to enjoy.

Nature at its finest!

Happy travels!
