Private, quiet and wooded sites

Hubs and I took a trip up to Big Lake, AZ (near Alpine, AZ) and stayed in site 20 at Grayling Campground (one of 5 or 6 campgrounds within the Big Lake Recreation Area.)

Due to COVID, we couldn't use the showers, which are about a mile away, but we did enjoy the nice days and cool nights.  The sites are large and well spaced.  Site 20 is especially rocky, uneven and rooty which is why I didn't give this campground a 5.

There are 2 toilet buildings.  One is a vault (single) toilet with no sink and the other toilet building with flushing toilets and a sink, but no soap and no paper towels.

We were there for 4 days during the week and enjoyed the peace and quiet.

There are lots of elk bugling at night and we even heard an owl (sounded huge) on our last night there.

The camp hosts were wonderful.  We paid $20 a night.

There are water spigots throughout the campground and the water is safe and tasty to drink.

I recommend this campground and we will be going back.
