Beautiful scenery
We camped 2 nights at Pine Flat. The surrounding scenery is beautiful but there wasn’t good access to the creek like we had hoped. The path to the creek and the creek itself are overgrown with thorny berry bushes. There are pit toilets and a water source for filling up drinking water only so bring some extra water for other needs. Showers are available at the campground a mile away and can be used by Pine Flat campers. You have to purchase shower tokens during business hours ($4 for an 8 minute shower) There were a couple of loud groups but they seemed to follow the quiet hour rules so it wasn’t a huge issue. Sites are on the smaller side and only one tent fit in our location. The best thing about the campground was that the tent pad area was a little sandy and has been well maintained. This meant that when we got monsoon rain the ground did not pool up with standing water. We noticed on our drive that several other campgrounds in the area had a lot of standing water around the tents after the storms.
